Here is a guide to the web sites around the globe featuring Tri-ang products

The Tri-ang Society (UK)

The 'official' site of the Tri-ang Society is still growing and is quite a comprehensive site featuring many Tri-ang products. Included are not only Tri-ang OO/HO railways, Minic Motorways and Tri-ang TT gauge railway products but also doll's houses and tinplate toys etc. Mainly photos of products and layouts but does not confine itself to Tri-ang and has photos of Tri-ang/Hornby products too.

 Tri-ang Railways Home Page (Aus)

A good site, hosted by Derek Gardner and well presented with history, catalogue covers, and a selection of photos of products of the '00 gauge' range and exhibition layouts on the Australian scene. Also has a comprehensive page of all the catalogue covers from the first Tri-ang to the latest Hornby.

(The owner also offers web space for railway modelling subjects via his ISP at www.acenet.au )

Dave W's Tri-ang Web Page (UK)

Another good site hosted by Dave Wilshaw with lots of photos and some unusual models featured.

Dave M's Tri-ang Web Page (UK)

Dave McCarthy's site is excellent, easily the best on the web, professionally constructed and very informative. Includes a very comprehensive index with many subject matters including, Minic Motorway, TT gauge railways, foreign products etc. Lots of excellent images of subjects from the first train set to the posters on the buildings.

Battlespace (UK)

This is part of Robert Forsythe's various railway-related pages and has an interesting Tri-ang Site about Battlespace, which is basically a copy of an article which he published in Model Railway Enthusiast magazine in August 1994.

Book Collecting (Aus)

Another Australian site this is part of John's site mainly concerned with books and magazines but has a few  interesting pages devoted to Tri-ang 'down under'.

Other Interesting Links

Train Collectors Society (UK)

The Train Collectors Society now have an interesting site. They are a long established society and deal with all makes of model railways including Tri-ang. Pat Hammond writes regular articles in their house magazine. they also hold regular get-togethers at sites across the UK and host a major vintage train show each year at Sandy, Beds. Write to them at Train Collectors Society, PO Box 20340, London NW11 6ZE or e-mail for more information on tcsinformation@btinternet.com

MRE Magazine (UK)

There have also been numerous articles about Tri-ang Railways published in the Model Railway Collector (formerly Model Railway Enthusiast) magazine with colour photos, but unfortunately has now ceased publication, although still maintains a website.

When publication of Model Railway Collector ended, British Railway Modelling magazine took up the challenge, launching a small but interesting supplement called "Classic" BRM. This features regular contributions from TCS members Pat Hammond, Mike Ennis & the Hornby Railway Collectors Association's (HRCA) Douglas Baldock, along with many others. The supplement eventually became incorporated into the magazine and has lost much of its content range as a result.

There is a web site:
www.brmodelling.com which carries details of the magazine.
